Pathfinder Farms is a great nonprofit that strives towards bettering the young men in Ashland County in a faith based environment. This program connects young men with mentors to grow their education and learn more about Christ. Pathfinder operates year round and hosts several programs. Two major programs that run throughout the year are the after school program and the summer work program.
The Burkholders reached out to The Norma Foundation about a great opportunity for the summer work program! A boy at the farm put together a model of a bridge that they wanted to build over a creek on the farm. The bridge was going to be built by the young men with the help of their mentors.
The Norma Foundation partnered with the Wurster’s and the Ferguson’s to make the dream of this project a reality. The bridge will not only further connect the men with their mentors, but they are also gathering valuable construction knowledge.
Jon from Pathfinder Farms said, “This has been a really great project for the kids and the parents of the kids have made many comments to how much fun the guys are having working together. Thank you for all of your help!”
The construction of this project was completed in the fall of 2021. Learn more about Pathfinder Farms by visiting https://www.pathfinderfarms.org
