Ashland Bookcase Project

The Ashland Bookcase Project was founded over 10 years ago by Dr. Julia Wright with the goal of improving reading skills of young students.

This project is funded completely by donations and the help of volunteers from the community and students at the career center. Many students at the Ashland County West Holmes Career Center participate in making the Ashland Bookcase Project a success each year. The culinary class provides appetizers, the tech department makes customized nameplates, and industrial tech builds the bookcases.

In 2021, 80 bookcases filled with books were donated to kids in the Ashland community. Since inception of the project, over 540 containing more than 20,000 books have been distributed to children in the community.

The Norma Foundation is proud to support such an amazing program for the youth in the Ashland community!
